It was while I was researching a youth group lesson that I stumbled on a story I think worth sharing. As we are gathering tomorrow for worship I think this story can really help us focus on an important aspect of the Sunday morning experience. First, I take you back 1700 years to the 4th century.

What's so bad about being expedient?

EXPEDIENT: It really seems like the "smart" thing to do - doesn't it? The word means practical, advantageous, convenient - what's so bad with that? And yet, sometimes the most expedient course of action is not the best course of action! Sometimes the tyranny of the expedient can so blind us that we don't see the consequences of choosing this route. I've been snowed by that - have you?
